si Manny Pangilinan (owner of PLDT and Smart) na pala ang bagong may hawak ng TV5 (formerly ABC5) ngayon. he bought it from Tony Boy Cojuangco... during Cojuangco's time, he attempted to reinvent the network (but a failed attempt) and from ABC5, he changed the network's name to TV5..

now, under the new management led by Pangilinan, he is allotting 12B pesos for reinventing the network and at the same to give ABSCBN and GMA a tight competition. they have been pirating artists and production people from both giant networks.. among the list were Paolo Bediones, Cheryl Cosim, Dolphy, Maricel Soriano and Ruffa Gutierrez. also in the plans are construction of state-of-the-art studio and rolling out new transmission lines..

so maybe for a couple of years now, it's ABSCBN vs GMA vs TV5... i just hope na mag-improve ang quality ng entertainment shows now that another competitor is joining the game.. at kung ang ABS ay may Kapamilya, GMA ay may Kapuso, TV5 has Ka-Shake

^ yeah.. actually , dito sa Manila, maganda na ang signal na nila.. sana mag-improve din sa mga provinces..

i just hope that TV5 people will not pattern their programming the same way Kapamilya and Kapuso people do. sana may bago silang maioffer.. counter programming.. bago pa magkaroon ng Showtime and franchise ng Got Talent, may Talentadong Pinoy na which is really doing good ratings-wise sa Mega Manila..

nakakatuwa ang Face to Face hosted by Amy Perez... parang The Jerry Springer Show... pero kahit medyo kinopya at may tamang pagkascripted ay nakakaentertain talagang panoorin... i think ang katapat nito ay yung Showtime  ng ABS and yung poor copycat version ng Showtime sa GMA.. refreshing makakita ng ganitong talk show tuwing umaga... nice counter-programming... good job TV5!
