Photos from the Opening Program yesterday:

Chancellor Aguilar delivering his speech

The audience

Do you see the confetti?

After the program, lots of native food!

The Nostaligia exhibit

And the ribbon-cutting

I really liked the opening program. It was heavily inspired by Western Visayas traditions from the prayer by Federico Caballero, the music, the 'four escorts' for the speakers, and the food.

Pasundayag 2008

I think there's a reason I wasn't able to take much photos of the Central Admin's presentation - so I couldn't post a clear view of our Chancellor doing the Oblation! Nevertheless, here is one photo from far away:

CFOS/SoTech/Support offices

CM/OU/etc (can't remember all the acronyms)

the winner and recipient of the 20,000-peso prize
CAS/UPHSI

It was a great night

I didn't have much pictures on the first half of the show due to my inconvenient position among the audience.

Here's the Hinugyaw judge who performed a fire-dance. Well admired by the audience.

On day two, I really thought that everything was canceled so I did not get up until 12. Heck, when I got up and was told by my (USC) roommate about how things carried on as if there was no rain, I felt stupid and mad. In fact, I didn't know at all that the Larong Pinoy will be held that day. I missed seeing the CAS dean and the chancellor play! No to mention the kites! T_T

Oh, yeah. The Pasundayag made Thursday night great. Good thing the rain did not come back. I don't want to sound like I obviously favor the performers from Miag-ao but I honestly didn't get the gist of the CM et al's presentation. x_x Go CAS!

Hinugyaw! Rex, more pictures from Elektrons please! ^_^' It was my first time seeing someone in person perform the so-called "Fire Dance" (or is it?). Despite some minor "errors", it was still fully entertaining. Actually, I was expecting more, specifically the dancer putting gas in his mouth and blowing fire. Does it now sound like a circus or what? XP

Sorry Nelson, I know what you're looking for but since I had a hard time taking photos that night, I really don't have much. Here's a couple of what I have:

And here's a video of the Fire Dancer
